Participant terms

What you can expect from SurvRewards when you take a survey on WhatsApp, and what we ask of you.

In force from 2026-10-01. Brands and MTN are bound by their signed agreements, not by this page.

1. What SurvRewards is

SurvRewards is a service that runs short surveys for brands over WhatsApp and gives the people who complete them a bundle of MTN mobile data as a thank-you. Taking part is voluntary and free. You take part by messaging our WhatsApp number or scanning a brand's code, and you can stop at any time.

2. Who can take part

  • You must be the holder of the MTN Ghana number you use, because the data is credited to it.
  • Before a survey starts we text a 6-digit code to that number and ask MTN whether the line is active. If either check fails, the survey does not start and nothing is recorded against you beyond the attempt.
  • One person, one number, one completion per survey. A survey may also screen for a particular audience or close when it has enough answers; if so, you are told at once and no reward is due.
  • You must be old enough to hold a WhatsApp account under WhatsApp's own terms.

3. The reward

  • The reward is the data bundle named in the first message of the survey. It is credited to the number you used, normally within 3 seconds of your last answer, and you receive a confirmation with MTN's reference. Reply RECEIPT at any time for your credits and their references.
  • The reward has no cash value and cannot be transferred, exchanged or paid to a different number.
  • If MTN cannot credit the bundle right away, nothing is lost: the credit is retried automatically, and you can tap Try again or reply HELP.
  • Where a survey has a pass mark (a quiz), the reward is due only when you reach it, and the pass mark is stated before you start.
  • A reward may be held for a person to review when the system sees signs of misuse (for example an impossibly fast completion, the same answer to every question, or many numbers behaving alike). A reviewer decides, not the rule; a held reward is either paid or you are told why not.

4. What we ask of you

  • Answer honestly and for yourself. The brand is paying for your real opinion.
  • Do not use more than one number, automated tools, or someone else's number to take a survey more than once.
  • Do not type abusive content or other people's personal details into a survey or a problem report.

Where we find misuse we may withhold rewards and stop messaging the number concerned. We tell you when we do.

5. The surveys

Each survey is written by the brand named in its first message and is reviewed by SurvRewards before it goes live for content, reward size and budget. Your answers are delivered to the brand in aggregate and, individually, only under a pseudonym with contact details masked out of anything you typed. The brand owns the results; you keep every right over your personal data set out in the privacy notice.

6. Stopping, and your data

Reply STOP at any time and we stop messaging you. Reply MY DATA to see what we hold about your number and DELETE to have it erased. These work even after STOP. The full statement of what we collect and how long we keep it is the privacy notice, version 2026-10-v1.

7. If something goes wrong

Reply HELP and choose Report a problem. A person from our team responds within the hour, and you receive a reference you can quote. For a credit MTN says it did not receive, our RECEIPT reference is what MTN's customer desk needs. You can also write to [email protected].

8. Our responsibility

We promise to pay the stated reward for a completed survey under these terms, to handle your data as the privacy notice says, and to answer you when you write to us. We are not responsible for the availability of WhatsApp or of MTN's network, for data charges your operator applies to WhatsApp use, or for the opinions a brand forms from the results. Nothing here limits a right you have under Ghanaian law that cannot be limited.

9. Changes and law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. When they change in substance the date at the top changes, and the change applies to surveys you start after that date. Surveys you have already completed stay under the terms you took them on.
